Thomas has been working in the fire safety engineering industry since graduating from his undergraduate position. He has gained a solid grounding in all facets of design and review, and is a self-motivated, people’s person who enjoys working as part of a team to deliver cost effective and safe designs. He also maintains excellent relationships with regulatory bodies including the many Fire Services within Australia.

Garry is a leader in performance-based design and probabilistic risk assessment in the built environment. He is experienced in all aspects of passive and active fire protection, as well as relevant Australian Standards, Building Codes of Australia, Factory Mutual (FM) and NFPA requirements. His experience covers a wide range of building types, including aviation, residential, industrial, office, amusement, warehouse, aged care facilities, hospitals and shopping centres.

Thomas has been involved in the fire protection industry since 1999 and has engineered and managed projects across Victoria, Northern Territory, Western Australia, and New South Wales. He has experience in advanced Computational Fire/Smoke Modelling and Egress Simulations, enabling him to engineer, supervise and peer review a variety of buildings.

Shane joined Affinity Fire Engineering in 2016 and has over 20 years of experience in the construction and fire protection industry. He has been managing Affinity's Newcastle office since 2020 which has grown consistently over this time providing diverse array of clients and projects.
