The development of educational facilities is very function-driven and often constrained by budgets and the integration of existing buildings. While it can be difficult to satisfy all the varied objectives within the project's constraints, fire engineering offers a means to facilitate fire safety in the building rather than fitting the building into a rigid, prescriptive code of fire safety design. Affinity has provided Performance Solutions for educational facilities which permit, most commonly, variation to egress conditions, exposure of openings and fire rating of building elements.

The school has been built in two stages, and Affinity has participated in Stage 1. To ensure that the new design was safe and cost-effective, Affinity Fire Engineering developed performance-based fire safety engineering solutions. Rationalising fire ratings, occupant egress, fire brigade intervention, and smoke hazard management systems were all part of the process. The result was a state-of-the-art facility that met all safety standards while providing an optimal learning environment for students. The school now boasts a modern and functional design that is sure to inspire students for years to come.
